We decided to practice for the upcoming GMTK 2024 Game Jam and created a project for the theme "Hold the Line."
We first discussed the theme and decided to go for a Dwarf descending a cave and collecting ore while "holding the line (a rope)."
So over the next few days we implemented various systems:
A procedural terrain generator.
Physics for grabbing the wall and swinging on the rope.
A procedural sprite color shader that allowed for the use of two colors.
Etc.
Though we didn't end up meeting our deadline of Sunday, August 11th, we still learned many new skills that will hopefully help us with the Game Jam.
